Quote of the day

"Prayer brings strength, strength brings confidence, confidence brings caring, caring brings love, and love brings relationships built by God above".

Happy Friday to everyone. I hope that you get all you have dreamed of this weekend.

Your words

As you walk past a stranger, look in their eyes, try to see their story. We are sometimes so consumed in our own lives that we walk past people all day long and never "see" them. I am sometimes one of those people, but as I found out from my husband, who talks to people all day long, if you just give someone a smile or a hello it could change their whole day. My husband was talking to someone the other day and found out that he was in War War II, well my husband stuck his hand out and shook the older gentlemans hand and said "Thank you for what you did for our freedom". The guy was literally shocked and had tears in his eyes and said "you will never know how much that means to me coming from you". I truly believe that it changed that mans whole day. If we could just reach our hand out and try to help others I believe we could start changing the world person by person. And make that certain person fill like they are worth it, God believes you are worth it. Nothing is ever too much for him. Just trust and believe!

Prayers of Comfort

Lifting up the Norton family today as they suffer a really big loss. May God give everyone peace and healing. Praying that each day gets better and you all trust that God has a plan for each and every one of you. It can't be easy losing a son, brother, or friend. But know that God is in control of our lives gets us through each and every hard day. Thank you God already for the things that you have planned for all of our lives.

Heavy hearts for the loss of loved ones.

Rainbow's End Memorial

We do not need a special day to bring you to our minds.
The days that we don't think of you are very hard to find.

Each morning when we awake, we know that you are gone,
And nobody knows the heartache as we try to carry on.

Our hearts still ache with sadness and secret tears still flow.
What it meant to lose someone like you no one will ever know.

Our thoughts are clearly with you, your place no one can fill.
In life we loved you dearly — in death we love you still.

There will always be a heartache and sometimes we'll shed a tear,
For there remain precious memories of the days when you were here.

If tears could make a staircase and heartaches make a lane,
We'd walk the path to Heaven and bring you home again.

So we'll let our angels guide us — right to the Rainbow's End —
They'll walk with us throughout our lives until we meet again.

Praying for comfort and peace for those that have lost a loved one this week. I know it is not easy to find peace when you feel so much hurt. But always remember that God is there for you no matter what is at the "end of your Rainbow". Live life to the fullest, because it is so precious and we always need to tell our loved ones that we love them.

I love you all,
Brandy

Dear God

Thank you for this beautiful day you have given me. I woke up with some things on my mind today Lord and I need to let you have them. I try to be strong for everybody else and sometimes I forget the things that I have to deal with. I will always remember Phillipians 4:6 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." I know God, that you are in Control. But me being human has let me to think that I can control things myself sometimes and that is clearly not true. And God shows me that. He is the one in charge. He is the power. He is able. I will never forget it God, never!

Happy Friday Everyone!

Going to take a minute to wish my Husband a Happy Birthday. God blessed me with the most amazing gift when he brought Brent in my life. I prayed for many years for a Christian man who would take care of me, love me, and enjoy life with me, and God hit it right on the nose with Brent. I will never be able to thank him enough for this precious gift. I told Brent today that when I got to Heaven I would go and find God and thank him for one of the greatest blessings he gave me when he brought Brent into my life. Thank you Brent for providing for me, working many hours of work, for encouraging me, and being my strength through the good and the bad. I love you Brent Thomas King!

Take a deep breathe....

Whew, life sure can pass us by. My husband and I went on a little mini vacation this past weekend and as I thought of all the memories that we made just over 4 days, I realized if I would have taken just a few minutes on my previous vacations to remember the memories that were made I would enjoy life a little more. I saw something on TV the other day about this guy who said, "live your life for the memories and frame everything that means something to you so that you can walk around your house and see pieces of your life". Make sure that God is number one in those memories, and live each second, mintue, and hour as if they are your last and love unconditionally no matter what.

The Cab Ride

I arrived at the address and honked the horn.
After waiting a few minutes I walked to the door and knocked.
'Just a minute', answered a frail, elderly voice.
I could hear something being dragged across the floor..

After a long pause, the door opened.
A small woman in her 90's stood before me..
She was wearing a print dress and a pillbox hat with a veil pinned on it,

Like somebody out of a 1940's movie.
By her side was a small nylon suitcase.
The apartment looked as if no one had lived in it for years.
All the furniture was covered with sheets.
There were no clocks on the walls, no knickknacks or utensils on the counters.
In the corner was a cardboard box filled with photos and glassware.
'Would you carry my bag out to the car?' she said.
I took the suitcase to the cab, then returned to assist the woman.
She took my arm and we walked slowly toward the curb..
She kept thanking me for my kindness.
'It's nothing', I told her..
'I just try to treat my passengers the way I would want my mother treated'.
'Oh, you're such a good boy', she said.
When we got in the cab, she gave me an address and then asked,
'Could you drive through downtown?'
'It's not the shortest way,' I answered quickly..
, I don't mind,' she said.
I'm in no hurry.
I'm on my way to a hospice'.
I looked in the rear-view mirror.
Her eyes were glistening.
'I don't have any family left,' she continued in a soft voice..
'The doctor says I don't have very long.
'I quietly reached over and shut off the meter.
'What route would you like me to take?' I asked.
For the next two hours, we drove through the city.
She showed me the building where she had once worked as an elevator operator.
We drove through the neighborhood where she and her husband had lived

When they were newlyweds.
She had me pull up in front of a furniture warehouse that had once

Been a ballroom where she had gone dancing as a girl.
Sometimes she'd ask me to slow in front of a particular building or corner
And would sit staring into the darkness, saying nothing..
As the first hint of sun was creasing the horizon, she suddenly said,
'I'm tired. Let's go now'. I Drove in silence to the address she had given me.

It was a low building, like a small convalescent home,
With a driveway that passed under a portico.
Two orderlies came out to the cab as soon as we pulled up..
They were solicitous and intent, watching her every move.

They must have been expecting her.
I opened the trunk and took the small suitcase to the door.
The woman was already seated in a wheelchair.
'How much do I owe you?'
She asked, reaching into her purse.
'Nothing,' I said
'You have to make a living,' she answered.
'There are other passengers,' I responded.
Almost without thinking, I bent and gave her a hug.
She held onto me tightly.
'You gave an old woman a little moment of joy,' she said.
'Thank you..'

I squeezed her hand, and then walked into the dim morning light.
Behind me, a door shut. It was the sound of the closing of a life.

I didn't pick up any more passengers that shift.
I drove aimlessly lost in thought.
For the rest of that day, I could hardly talk.
What if that woman had gotten an angry driver,
Or one who was impatient to end his shift?
What if I had refused to take the run, or had honked once,
then driven away?
On a quick review,
I don't think that I have done anything more important in my life.
We're conditioned to think that our lives revolve around great moments.
But great moments often catch us unaware - beautifully
wrapped in what others may consider a small one.
PEOPLE MAY NOT REMEMBER EXACTLY
WHAT YOU DID, OR WHAT YOU SAID ~BUT~THEY WILL
ALWAYS REMEMBER HOW YOU MADE THEM FEEL.

Verse of the Day

Psalm 91:1-2 (NIV) "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'"

Have you ever felt like you have taken the step God wanted you to take only to find yourself dangling in thin air with no safety net in sight? I have. I don't like it. I want to know what is just ahead and see what is around the next corner of life. It frightens me to take risks. I wonder if God will really be there and come through for me the way He says He will in the Bible. Can I really do what God is asking me to do? Will He be pleased by my seemingly insignificant step of faith? And what happens if I fall? Falling is painful and something I try to avoid whenever possible.

I have great news for you, girlfriend! God is near. His eyes are set on you and His heart delights in your very existence as His daughter. If you listen carefully, you just might hear Him applauding that one tiny step of faith you were willing to take as you walked straight through your fear. God is fully aware of where you are and what you need. Heaven is not in a panic. And when you fall, you can rest assured your Father will be there to hold you in His arms of love and strengthen you for every step of your journey.

Battle!!!!

Okay, so I don't usually ask for things but could use your prayers right now. I have to face something that I have already delt with months ago. It's nothing Jesus can't handle and I totally trust that, but prayers in your corner always help right? :) My faith is so strong that I know God is in control of everything. And I know it could be a lot worse than it is so I am not one of those that will sit there and dwell in all of this. But I would truly appreciate you guys all be my prayer warrior right now. Thank you!

Today's Truth

Isaiah 26:3-4 (ICB) "You, Lord, give true peace. You give peace to those who depend on you. You give peace to those who trust you. So, trust the Lord always. Trust the Lord because he is our Rock forever."

Let's Pray

Father, it seems that anxiety and doubt are constant companions right now. This valley seems so deep and so dark. By faith, I choose to trust You, my Shepherd. I am so tired, Father. Will You please carry me? I cannot see what is ahead. Will You please guide me? I am discouraged and ready to quit. Will You please be my strength? I love You and want to please You with my life. Empower me to be all You created me to be

Happy Sunday

So the question our Sunday School or "small group" teacher asked us this morning was, "Since God shows us Grace, should we show Grace to others"? And it seams like a simple question right? First time in this class, I spoke up because God put it on my heart to say something. I said of course, Our God shows us his Grace and Mercy by forgiving us so we must then do the same thing for others. We must forgive people because if we don't it keeps coming back in our life and not letting us set free to bless others through Christ. Forgiveness is hard when someone has really hurt you and broke your heart right? I agree, there was a time in my life that I hated someone, yes the word hate came up. I had to really be obedient in God's will and forgive this person and I told them that I hated them and had to pray really hard to show them Grace and forgiveness. It's like it set me free from holding onto that grudge.

Happy Saturday!

Miracles happen every day. They are around us every where. They are in a smile from a friend, A kiss from someone special, The laughter of children, and so many more you just have to look! So enjoy life.

Miracles are all around us. We just have to see them. People take miracles in all different aspects. When I look at the beautiful things that God created, or just wake up in the morning, I see my miracle. God is in Control of everything and he can perform miracles. I try not to take each day for granted because we never know when we will be called home to Jesus. I have always said that I want to find something special about each day. The memories, the love that we have for people around us, or make a difference that particular day. Try to find your "miracle" for the day whatever it may be!

Thought for the day

Just as the shepherd meets every need of his sheep, God meets our every need. Just as sheep totally depend upon their shepherd's care, we would be wise to depend totally upon God. He is our Provider. He is our Source and He is all we need.

“The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart - the place where love resides"

Captured by Grace

Grace- It's a stained-Glass, impersonal word until it happens to you. Until you have been broken beyond belief and need a miracle for your soul. Until you have betrayed a loved one and cannot bring them back. Until you have befriended every darkness and are desparate for the light. Or you need to be saved. That's when God's relentless, amazing, very personalized GRACE finds you. Encountering God's grace changes lives forever. This was all said by David Jeremiah. I am reading his book right now. It is awesome to see the things he describes as God's grace. Just take a minute to think about the above statement. I know I would not be who I am today without God's grace and mercy.

Bible Study

Are you reading your Bible everyday? Or are you doing a Bible Study? I would like to know what you all are reading. The one thing I have learned is studying the Bible teaches you what God wants you to do with your life. I am always interested in what others are studying because I know I can learn from it. I am reading Jeremiah and Psalm right now and I love. My Husband and I do a couples devotional together and then we read our Bible separately. I feel such a closeness with the Lord when I study his word and prayer everyday. He is my strength and refuge!

A sudden loss

Today take a moment to pray for Robin and Chesley Wetherington. They lost a husband and a father of a sudden heart attack. It hits so close to home, life is so precious and we don't realize it sometimes until something like this happens. Today is the funeral and I pray for comfort and healing for the whole family. The choir will be singing Thou O Lord. That is why I posted that video in remembrance of Charlie.

Surrounded by friends
yet all alone
the one I loved
God has called home
the hugs of friends
helps ease the pain
and I know my loss
is my loved one's gain
but tears now flow
across my face
as I long for just
one more embrace
then comfort comes
and I see Christ's face
He hugs my loved one
and I feel God's grace.

God is Good!

While praying this morning, a song came to my heart. "Newsboys Amazing Love Lyrics:

I'm forgiven, because You were forsaken,

I'm accepted, You were condemned,

I'm alive and well, Your Spirit is within me,

Because You died, and rose again,

Amazing love, how can it be,
That You my king, should die for me,

Amazing Love, I know it's true,

It is my joy to honor You,

In all I do, to honor You

God is good all the time. No matter what we are going through he is always there. I am one that has doubt sometimes, thinking when are things going to get better you know. But then God reminds me "I am here", that is all I need.  He loves us all!!!!

A life lost...

Just take a minute to thank God for your many many blessings. We never know when it will be our time to go home with Jesus Christ. There was a life lost too sudden last night. It puts life into prospective when it hits so close to home. Jesus knows the plans he has for us, he promises us this (Jeremiah 29:11). Life is so precious and we need to make sure that we tell the people around us that we love them, we need to share the gospel, and we need to live a life worth living. I prayed last night for that sweet family who lost their special loved one, and God put on my heart that he is there for us always and we may not understand the reasons things happen but we need to know that if we trust him all things are possible.

Living in Gods will

Throughout scripture, God tells us He will meet our every need. There is a good reason for this. If we depend on God for our needs, we must be in constant communication with Him. If we are in constant communication with Him, we are more likely to live according to His perfect will for us.

I know from experience that when I follow God's will there are so many blessings that follow. When I live in my will or the will of the world it is not the same case. The above message is one that I read. I like to research things when I have questions about them. It's hard to understand what living in God's will consists of. When there is no question our relationship with God we see all of our blessings around us. The small ones and the big ones. When we are not living in his will all the negative things are noticed....the things that we are "not receiving from God.  Continue to pray, continue to trust, and continue to believe in the Lord above.

Love one another

I used to live for what others thought of me. I was not a leader I was a follower, but a follower of the wrong crowd. Now I am the one who wants to always follow Jesus. To do this we must love one another no matter what. God loved us and forgave us so we must do the same for others. Listen I have been in the position where I have actually hated someone, when I had that hate I couldn't develop my relationship with Jesus. I had to forgive and know that God will bring those who are prideful down to our level. I didn't have to try to take care of it myself my God would do it, whether it took a week, a month, or a year. He did take care of it...when someone is prideful, it does not go well with Jesus. As it states in the Bible, James 4:6..."Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble". But not matter what we have to forgive...(Ephesians 4:32) 32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.

Love you all!
